“Women Lead: How Gender and Generations Are Driving New Leadership”

For future leadership, look to women. New research shows women outperform men on most executive competencies. And managers of both genders rate women higher than men on a wide range of leadership skills, including communication, collaboration, and problem solving. At the same time, Generations X and Y are moving past gender roles to define more adaptive leadership practices.

What will leadership look like in the multigenerational, technology-driven workplace? This multimedia presentation highlights Apollo Research Institute findings from interviews with 200 women leaders and surveys of more than 3000 male and female managers across industries.

“Multi-Establishment Enforcement”

OFCCP has been working to extend the impact of its enforcement efforts beyond the individual facility. These efforts include a heightened emphasis on reviewing corporate-wide internal policies, enhanced recordkeeping requirements, resolving compliance issues at a multi-establishment level and to a certain extent using Functional Affirmative Action Plans. This presentation will take at look at how these efforts operate from within OFCCP and identify steps companies can take to get and stay ahead of this trend.

LUNCH & Keynote: “Why I Sue?”

Tod Schleier, a prominent Phoenix plaintiff’s lawyer, will provide an inside look into why and how he chooses certain cases and declines others (his thought process includes more than just failures to follow the law, as he will cover how the treatment of employees often plays a significant role in his cases). Mr. Schleier also will discuss how you can avoid being one of his targets.

“Ethics Compliance and DOL SOX Enforcement Trends”

Workplace ethics and compliance pose great challenges for today’s executives who must be able to articulate and model their organization’s values and acceptable standards at the highest level while attending to the ever-increasing expectations of current and prospective stakeholders. This program will explore the complex web of compliance laws and obligations facing the modern organization, including an analysis of recent DOL SOX enforcement trends, penalties and “bounties.” Tools are provided for resolving ethical dilemmas; required practices are identified to help implement oversight and procedures that can help avoid code violations, as well as minimize liability exposure; and practical dilemmas lurking within everyday dynamics are examined to ensure a uniform standard of best practice.

“The New OFCCP Compensation Procedures” -- Keep your heads down. It’ll blow over

The release of Directive 307 rescinding 2006 Compensation Standards and Voluntary Guidelines has created a lot of ambiguity. Due to various factors which will be covered in this briefing, much of this uncertainty should be cleared up within the first year or so, but until then, we’ll all have to take extra care. We’ll discuss the meaning of Directive 307, what it means to you in the long run, and how to best protect yourself in the short term.
